IMAWA's Convention
IMAWA held its 59th annual convention in Peoria on March 12-13, 2012.
Bill Stevenson received the Orin C. Hutchcraft Quality Service Award, IMAWA's most prestigious award.
Scholarships Presented:
IMAWA's Doug Schneider Scholarship was presented to Erin McHugh, whose father Tom McHugh is with National Van Lines. Erin intends to study Political Science at St. Olaf College in Northfield MN
The Doug Schneider Scholarship is named in memory of our board member Doug Schneider (Bill's Moving & Storage, Rock Island), who inspired the scholarship back in 1994. Twenty students have benefited from Doug's foresight, and we're proud of them.
This year IMAWA will bestow two NAIT Charitable Foundation Scholarships, each for $1,000 (for one year).
The first 2012 NAIT Scholarship will go to Alexander T. Akrivos, whose parents Steve and Jean Akrivos are both with Hollander International Storage and Moving. Alex will attend Universal Technical Institute to acquire a Diesel Technician degree and to become Automotive Service Excellence certified.
The second 2012 NAIT Scholarship will go to Chelsea Ann Walters, whose mother Paula Miller is with Dodge Moving & Storage, O’Fallon. Chelsea plans to attend either SIU Edwardsville or Missouri State University with a goal of becoming a gynecologist.
The NAIT scholarship is made possible through a generous endowment from the National Association of Independent Truckers Charitable Foundation.
