Special Olympics Illinois

We are an active supporter of Special Olympics Illinois.

Our association's March 2007 convention delegates raised $11,700.00 to be used by athletes in Illinois, for which our association was named a Bronze Sponsor at the 2007 Illinois Summer Games.

Since September 1997, our members have contributed more than $75,615 in cash, representing 100% of the proceeds from ISO-designated auctions at our membership events.

In 2006 we sent a contingent of athletes to the very first National Games in Ames Iowa. We were proud to be the Silver Medal sponsor at the 1997 State Volleyball Tournament; Power Lifting Sponsor at frequent Summer Games; and Sports Carnival sponsor for 2001 and 2002. In June 1999, IMAWA sponsored Illinois athlete Mirsada Kunica to the Special Olympics World Games in North Carolina. We're very proud to announce she came come with 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal!!

Many of our members are active partners in their own communities for Special Olympics, providing volunteer hours and assistance with transportation and storage needs.
